Documentary about YESSS featured on buten un binnen

On January 9th, Bremen magazine buten un binnen presented a documentary that offers an exclusive look into the Svalbard research expedition of Max and Lola, two dedicated PhD students, and their colleagues from the YESSS team.

The special feature shows how much care and detail is involved in a polar expedition. Our scientists keep busy at all stages of their journey. Before departing, they make sure that they have all of their polar clothes and research equipment in order. Once they arrive in Svalbard, Max and Lola conduct experiments vital to understanding the effects of climate change on the polar environment.

Some of the personal challenges that come with being a researcher in such a remote location will also be addressed. Max and Lola describe the emotional and psychological aspects of this work, including working far away from loved ones and the lack of sunlight in the polar night.

This program emphasizes the resilience and commitment of our researchers, tackling some of today’s most pressing environmental issues. We invite everyone to tune in and gain a deeper appreciation for the vital work being done in polar research.
