Terra X episode featuring YESSS is now online

The two-part ZDF documentary is an extensive reflection on Arctic research. The episode host, TV and film actor Sebastian Ströbel, visits scientists, artists and Arctic locals to discuss and understand how interconnected the region’s ecosystem is, how strongly the impact of climate change is felt by different communities in the Arctic, and what it means for the rest of the world.

A special focus on YESSS is made in the second part of the film. It starts at 10:30 of the viewing time, and presents a glimpse into our researchers’ daily lives at the Ny-Ålesund station. Sebastian talked with our PhD student Lola Nader about the details of her work on phytoplankton and sea urchins, and about what it was like for her to work during the totally-dark Polar night.

The film will be a compelling watch for anyone interested in Polar research and climate change, regardless of background knowledge in the field.
